If you're keen as mustard for the experience then go for it and I hear good things about Duck Flat Wooden Boats. Unfortunately, the retail of "kit" style boats is not our thing.

There are loads of old wooden boats as it's the time tested boat building material, but not all wooden boats are old.

We admire the artisan skills of these old traditionally built wooden boats and several of the skills still stand true, we just try as much as possible to get a CNC LASER and various other tools to perform the same operation.

Obviously, the traditional aesthetic is preserved, but surrounding the wood is anything but tradition. It might look classic, but you're looking at the best that chemistry and material science has to offer.

Once we start your boat it usually takes about 3 weeks to finish the boat and let everything achieve full cure. Once its done we have a big work van which we use to deliver the boats safe and sound with a briefing on the operation of our boat.

The delivery fee is based on distance from Canberra or Jurien Bay and we normally beat the TNT rate by 10-15%. If you're into saving money we can always wait for an order heading in the same direction and batch ship up to 4 boats.
